Historically, this territory was disputed between the Malatesta family of Rimini and the Montefeltro family of Urbino, and it was finally annexed by the Dukes of Montefeltro. A long history that can be seen from its many fortresses and castles.
You will admire magnificent mountains, gentle hills, deep gullies and rocky spurs. You will discover how the culinary traditions of the Marches, Tuscany and Romagna blend to produce a unique alchemy of flavors!

You will spend the first two nights in a charming 3-star hotel in a small town with picturesque landscapes: Sant’Agata Feltria characterized by its fortress that looks like one of the fairytales overlooking the village.
Then you will spend the last two nights in a corner of relax and wellness immersed in the woods of Montefeltro, a stone’s throw from Urbino and the most beautiful landscapes of the Renaissance.

Day 1
Arrival and accommodation in the early afternoon. You will stay in a 3-star hotel in Sant’Agata Feltria, a small town with evocative landscapes and a fairytale fortress. The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to discovery of the surrounding area on your own.
For dinner you will be expected in Talamello, the town of Fossa cheese, famous for its history and unmistakable flavor. It is said that in the past farmers, tired of sharing the fruits of their labor with their bosses, hid part of the cheese in pits dug into the stone. They discovered that, in that particular area, this practice not only succeeded in hiding part of the cheese, but also favored its refinement, giving it a unique flavor!
Before dinner in Talamello, you will visit some cheese caves (dug in August and extracted in November). Immediately afterwards you will dedicate yourself to the tasting of this typical product with its intense flavor through a dinner based on a truly exceptional tasting menu!

day 2
In the morning, you will leave for Pennabilli. Valentina, your guide, will be waiting for you in the village to take you on a short, but very interesting, urban trek to discover the village of the two castles!
You will learn about the unique and fascinating history of Pennabilli, from ancient times to the present day! But we don’t want to reveal anything more! Let your guide lead you to the discovery of this amazing place, to fully appreciate it step by step.
At lunchtime, at the end of the itinerary, you can enjoy a culinary break in the square, at one of the village shops. In the afternoon, you can continue exploring the magical territory of Montefeltro on your own.
We recommend you visit San Leo and its magnificent fortress perched on a rocky spur. A real impregnable stronghold! Before dinner, you can relax in the accommodation and get ready for a very special evening!
For dinner, you will be welcomed at a starred restaurant! In Pennabilli in fact, chef Riccardo Agostini (1 Michelin star) will be waiting for you with his wife Claudia to delight you with a tasting menu dedicated to the territory!
day 3
After breakfast, it will be time to set off for Urbino!
You will stay in a country house a stone’s throw from Urbino, a corner of relaxation and wellbeing immersed in the woods of Montefeltro. You will be welcomed into the structure, just outside the UNESCO World Heritage Ducal City. You can pamper yourself for the rest of the day with a hydromassage pool, a glass of prosecco wine served by the poolside and a holistic massage. Or you can go on a relaxing walk through the center of Urbino, discovering the city’s treasures.
day 4
In the morning, you will continue the discovery of Urbino. Admire the ducal palace, the historical center and the Albornoz fortress with its magnificent view over the Renaissance city!
In the afternoon, we recommend adding a truffle hunting experience to your itinerary! In fact, the Montefeltro is a treasure trove of precious truffles. Depending on the season, you can accompany a truffle hunter and his dog on a hunt for the precious tuber!
day 5
After breakfast, you will be ready to leave for home. Get inspired by our suggestions for the last visits to Urbino and its surroundings, before returning to your destination.
