Stella delved into the subject of natural colours thanks to a research grant and became passionate about the world of dyeing plants
She manages what has become a true creative residence, where she has set up the Woad Museum, the Woad Trail, the Garden of Colours and the Path of Colours, and where she organises workshops for her guests focusing on natural colours, dyeing plants and clay modelling, as well as offering hospitality.
Accommodation is in a double room with a private toilet.
Guests also have access to a shared bathroom with a stone whirlpool tub.
TRAVEL JOURNAL
DAY 1
Arrival in the early afternoon at this very special and fascinating place!
Stella will immediately immerse yourselves in the atmosphere of the place by telling you about the woad and involving you in a dyeing or colour-milling workshop of your choice.
This will be an opportunity to learn more about this dyeing plant and its secrets, its history and ancient uses, as well as the importance it has had for this territory: Montefeltro.
At the end, you can dedicate yourself to a nature walk in the surrounding area, following one of the many trails in the Natural Park.
However, an excellent dinner awaits you, the result of culinary research using wild and cultivated plants to create special and unique dishes!
DAY 2
After breakfast, before leaving, you can choose to devote yourself to another workshop.
Possibilities include:
– A walk through the dye plant garden, harvesting the plants and extracting the colour, and finally the creative moment at the end by painting your own work of art with the watercolour technique using the freshly extracted natural colours!
– Modelling of ceramics to obtain a small work of art or to make a ceramic item for use (a glass, a ladle holder, a vase, etc.) that will remain with you once dried, baked and shipped!
– Create your own personalised shopper by printing a leaf or plant on the fabric
