Stella delved into the subject of natural colours thanks to a research grant and became passionate about the world of dyeing plants.
She manages what has become a true creative residence, where she has set up the Woad Museum, , the riverside Garden of Colours full of dye plants, a library at the guests’ disposal and a real atelier where she organises workshops for her guests focusing on natural colours, dyeing plants and clay modelling, as well as offering hospitality.
Accommodation is in a double room with a private toilet.
Guests also have access to a shared bathroom with a stone whirlpool tub.
TRAVEL JOURNAL
DAY 1
Arrival in the early afternoon at this truly special and fascinating place!
Stella will immediately immerse you in the unique atmosphere, sharing the secrets of woad – the ancient dyeing plant – its history, traditional uses, and the important role it has played in the Montefeltro territory.
You will then take part in a hands-on workshop, learning to mill and dye with this extraordinary plant.
Afterwards, enjoy a peaceful walk in the surrounding nature, exploring one of the many trails in the Natural Park.
To complete the day, a delicious dinner awaits you, crafted through culinary research using wild and cultivated plants to create unique and memorable dishes!
DAY 2
You will celebrate waking up in this peaceful oasis with a delicious breakfast!
Before departing, you can choose to take part in another workshop:
– A walk through the dye plant garden, collecting plants and extracting their colors, followed by a creative session painting your own artwork in watercolor using the freshly extracted natural colors!
– Ceramic modeling to create a small work of art or a functional ceramic object (a cup, a utensil holder, a vase, etc.) that will be yours once dried, fired, and shipped to you!
– Design your own personalized shopper bag using botanical printing, imprinting a leaf or a plant onto the fabric.
