A week-end to discover Piceno region during the wheat harvest period


During this trip you will be welcomed in Piceno region (the south part of marche) and you will discover some of its most evocative hamlets.
You will be accommodated in a traditional countryside house and you will live the experience of wheat harvest discovering all the production process from the field to the table learning how to make pasta, pizza and bread!

The accommodation facility


The house is located in the surroundings of Montalto Marche, a village standing among the marvelous Sibillini mountains, the beautiful medieval town of Ascoli Piceno and the Palms Riviera.
A cozy country house perfectly renovated. Paolo, the manager, will welcome you and accompany you to the discover of Piceno. He will share with you its passion for cooking and good foods!
The house is encircled by vineyards from which the best Piceno wines come from!

TRAVEL JOURNAL

DAY 1

Arrival in the afternoon. Paolo will show you the rooms and the surroundings.
For dinner you will enjoy a special menu. Several courses paired each one with a glass of wine of Piceno: Passerina DOCG Offida, Percorino DOCG Offida and Rosso Piceno.

DAY 2

Today you will go on a e-bike in a wheat field not far from the house. Here you will help Paolo in harvesting the wheat discovering the ancient method!
Soon will be time to move towards the ancient machine to shell the wheat and make the threshing to obtains the grains and separate them from the straws!
The tour goes on, it’s now time to reach the medieval stone mill where the miller is waiting for you to grind your wheat!
You will learn more about this place where the mill operates from the XIV century with the energy coming from the water of the river.
The miller will reveal all the secrets of his job!
At the end of the visit it’s time to ride again your e-bike and go back to the house where you will use the wheat to make fresh pastas with Paolo for the dinner!

DAY 3

The day starts with a rich and really good breakfast!
Then Paolo will involve you in the preparation of the dough for bread and pizzas before going for a walk in Montalto Marche and visit the village.
For lunch you will taste the home made bread cooking it in the wood oven and you will be soon ready to go and visit Offida in the afternoon. Offida is a medieval hamlet and it was for centuries the economic centre of this area.
For dinner your pizzas and some relax are waiting for you!

DAY 4

It’s the end of this trip.

Before leaving Piceno, we suggest you to visit Ascoli Piceno and immerse yourself in its rich history!
Do not hesitate to ask us further information to live your last day in Piceno!
