TRAVEL JOURNAL

DAY 1

Arrival in the late morning or early afternoon.
Your adventure begins straight away in the hills around Jesi, where you may choose between two authentic experiences:

Olive Grove Experience
You will be welcomed by Paola for a walk among the olive trees, discovering the local Marche varieties and the unique characteristics that make the extra virgin olive oil of this area so distinctive.
The visit continues at the estate’s olive mill, where you will learn about modern extraction techniques and the secrets behind preserving the oil’s quality and properties.

At the end of the walk, you will become true tasters: guided by Paola, you will sample the estate’s single-varietal oils, uncovering their differences in aroma and flavour.
By training your sense of smell and taste, you will take part in a genuine mini professional olive oil tasting course.

Winery Experience
Alternatively, you may discover one of the area’s true symbols: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, regarded as one of Italy’s finest white wines.
The visit begins in the estate vineyards, continues in the winery to explore the winemaking techniques, and concludes with a guided tasting of the wines, accompanied by typical local produce.

Both experiences can also be arranged as a leisurely lunch, allowing you to enjoy a convivial moment immersed in the beauty of the Marche countryside.

DAY 2

In the morning, a hearty champion’s breakfast is just what you need to start the day in the best possible way!

For today, you may choose between two unique experiences:

Truffle Hunting Experience
Early in the morning, you will set off with Antonio and one of his wonderfully friendly dogs on a truffle hunt.

You will become truffle hunters for a day, following the dog as it works — each animal behaving in its own distinctive way depending on breed, character, age and experience.

But we won’t reveal too much… it’s far better to let yourself be surprised.

The hunt will bear fruit, and you can reward yourselves with a truffle tasting lunch at a nearby restaurant, celebrating the flavours of your find.

Wild Herbs Foraging and Cooking Experience
An immersive journey into the culinary traditions of the Marche, rooted in simple rural cooking.

Foraging for edible wild herbs has always been a regional tradition and once formed part of the everyday diet of farming families.

Together with Carla, you will set off on a guided walk across the meadows of her small organic farm to identify and gather a selection of seasonal wild herbs.

You will then return to the kitchen with your harvest and prepare a full lunch using the herbs you have collected, enjoying your meal in the shade of the garden or inside the large greenhouse when the weather is cooler.

DAY 3

Check-out and departure.

Before heading home, one more morning awaits you in the Vallesina area.

You may choose to enjoy a stroll through the streets of Jesi, a charming medieval town with many stories to tell. Through a series of historical events and remarkable coincidences, it was the birthplace of Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor.

The museum dedicated to this extraordinary and multifaceted figure offers a fascinating insight into his life and legacy, and is well worth a visit.

Alternatively, a guided tour can be arranged to the renowned Grotte di Frasassi, where you will be amazed by the sheer majesty of nature. The visit can also include the Tempio del Valadier, a striking sanctuary built within a cave, offering breathtaking views over the dramatic gorge below.
