Legend tells that in the Sibyl's cave, located on 'Mount Sibyl', lived a 'great prophetess who rarely revealed her benevolent secrets.Necromancers and wandering knights came from all over Europe on exhausting journeys in the hope of receiving a few wise words from the Sibyl.This mountain chain is one of the most important in the Apennines and the highest in Le Marche with its peaks exceeding 2,000 metres.
Nowadays, the Sibillini Mountains are a protected natural area where high mountain landscapes merge with pastures and plateaus.
In these places, ancient craft traditions are preserved and people are dedicated to cattle breeding (the Sibillini pecorino cheese is famous) and agriculture, with the cultivation of cereals and legumes (do you know the lentils from the Castelluccio plateau?).
This area is perfect for immersing oneself in nature.
Hiking enthusiasts are in the right place! There is something for everyone, from the most relaxing to the most challenging, from high mountains to green grassy valleys.

Andrea and his family await you on their agriturismo! Here they breed cows, thanks to the large pastures surrounding the agriturismo, and grow cereals and legumes typical of this area!
The farm can accommodate you in comfortable flats, rooms, or in the green space dedicated to the agri-camping!
Spending a few days here means fully immersing yourself in nature and the rhythms and traditions of these places.
Definitely the best way to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Sibillini mountains!
TRAVEL JOURNAL
DAY 1
Arrival at the accommodation facility in the early afternoon and check-in at the flat.
We recommend a visit to the nearby village of Montemonaco with its still intact walls enclosing it.
In addition to a museum dedicated to the Sibyl, you will find breathtaking views of the Sibillini chain and Mount Vettore (the highest in the Marche region).
Walking along the village walls, you will also find a playground equipped with trails for children and adults with a view of the mountains!

* Those leaving with Rurally will receive before departure a booklet containing ideas and tips for lunch and dinner breaks and visits to the surrounding area.
DAY 2
In the morning, after breakfast on the farm, we suggest you go on an hike!
Not far from where you are staying is the trail leading to the Infernaccio canyon, a gorge carved by the torrent with waterfalls and cascades of great beauty!
There are also other possible family excursions in the park in the surrounding area.
Let yourself be inspired by our tips!
Or, if you prefer 2 wheels, why not dedicate yourself to an e-bike tour to discover these territories with the help of your Park guide, Alessandro!
In the afternoon, follow Andrea to the stable! You will get to know his cows, which at this point in the day need to be milked!
Roll up your sleeves and let yourself be guided by Andrea for the milking!
The milk obtained will be used for breakfast the next day and for the production of yoghurt and cheese!
If you want to find out more about cheese making, follow Andrea and his grandmother and help them form the curds and cheese mould!
DAY 3
Check-out from the agriturismo in the early morning, but before returning why don’t you take a guided kayak trip on nearby Lake Gerosa?
Or a visit to Ascoli Piceno, a real treasure chest!
Or even some relaxation in a stream with cool, clear waters?
