Between the ridges of the Tausani Mountains and the rocky spurs of Montefeltro, a farming couple, Luigi and Silvia, passionately raise cashmere goats, transforming their precious fleece into fine yarns and bespoke handcrafted garments.
Their dedication to the animals and the land, combined with skilled craftsmanship, allows them to create high-quality yarns and made-to-measure pieces. They will welcome you and guide you step by step through the entire cashmere production process — from goat farming to finished garments — sharing stories, anecdotes and techniques, and inviting you to become part of a unique place where tradition and sustainability meet.

THE EXPERIENCE – VISIT PROGRAMME

The experience begins in the stable, where you will meet the farm’s cashmere goats and learn about their life cycle, their seasonal routines, and the care required to produce high-quality cashmere.
You will also meet the true guardians of the herd: Argo, Lea and Nina, Maremma and Abruzzese sheepdogs who protect the goats from wolves, while Brando, a skilled Border Collie, assists Luigi in leading the herd out to pasture.

This is the moment when you can observe the unique interaction between dogs, goats, and the shepherd in the daily management of the herd, as you help lead the goats to pasture around the stable, all while hearing stories and anecdotes about mountain farming.

The visit continues in the yarn workshop, where Silvia and Luigi will show you the entire cashmere production process.
It begins with hand-combing the fibres, followed by washing with natural detergents, air-drying, and then carding and spinning.
You will get right into the heart of the artisanal production process and discover the secrets of fibre preparation needed to create high-quality yarns, ready to be transformed into bespoke garments.

The experience ends with a relaxing, convivial moment in the garden.

You will be able to enjoy a selection of local specialties — cheeses, cured meats, artisanal bread from the local bakery, and seasonal fruit — accompanied by water and wine.
It’s the perfect way to relax and round off an immersive day in a unique landscape, surrounded by nature, mountains, breathtaking scenery, and the rural traditions of Montefeltro.

It is possible to add an optional experience: a walk of approximately 1 hour along the trails surrounding the farm, accompanying the goats to pasture together with the shepherd and the herding dogs.
